Draft notice: these terms were drafted to cover Trace's core functionality and the mandatory clauses required for app-store distribution. They have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer -- treat them as a working starting point, not certified legal advice, until they have been.

Acceptance of terms

By using Trace, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Trace (14, if you're in Quebec). By using Trace, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Trace to:

Trace has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Accounts that violate these terms may be blocked by other users, reported, and removed at our discretion. Use the in-app Block and Report tools on any account that violates these terms.

Your account

Trace accounts are pseudonymous and tied to your device. You're responsible for anything that happens through your account. You can delete your account at any time fromSettings > Legal & Privacy > Delete my account.

Location & safety

Trace helps you find other people who are active nearby, but it does not verify the identity, intentions, or safety of any user. Use good judgment when meeting anyone you connect with through the app, and never share more information than you're comfortable with.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Trace is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of any location or profile data shared through the app. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trace and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data or service downtime) arising from your use of the app, or for the actions of any third party you interact with through it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Trace evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
