Principles

• We don't track you, and we will never sell your data -- to advertisers or anyone else.
• If Trace ever charges for anything, it'll be a subscription. We're not interested in running ads or holding features back to push you toward them.
• You're pseudonymous by default -- no name, email, or phone required to use Trace.
• While you're broadcasting (going live), Trace keeps you visible only to your friends, or to anyone you choose to share a link with -- including with your screen locked -- until you end it or it times out. Outside of an active broadcast, Trace doesn't track your location at all.
• Your position is fuzzed to a rough area before it's ever shared -- other people never see your exact coordinates, only an approximate distance.
• Live location is never stored in the database -- it lives briefly in memory and automatically expires.
• Each time you go visible, only your friends can see it -- or anyone else you choose to share a link with.
